Viltrox has expanded its Air series to L-Mount cameras with four new compact autofocus prime lenses. The lineup includes the Viltrox AF 14mm F4.0 Air L, AF 20mm F2.8 Air L, AF 40mm F2.5 Air L and AF 50mm F2.0 Air L.
All four lenses weigh less than 210 grams individually, and together they weigh around 705 grams. That makes this an interesting lightweight lens setup for photographers using Panasonic Lumix S, Leica SL and Sigma fp cameras.
Pricing is also quite aggressive, with every lens priced below $200 globally.

Viltrox Air L-Mount Lens Lineup
The four lenses were first shown during IBC 2026 and have now been officially announced with pricing.
Together, they cover focal lengths from 14mm to 50mm, giving photographers options for landscapes, architecture, street photography, travel, vlogging, portraits and everyday shooting.
For those unfamiliar with L-Mount, it is the lens mount system used by Leica, Panasonic and Sigma full-frame cameras.
A prime lens has a fixed focal length, which means there is no zoom. These lenses are usually smaller, lighter and often brighter compared to zoom lenses covering similar focal lengths.
This is also one of the biggest L-Mount expansions from Viltrox so far.

Viltrox AF 14mm F4.0 Air L
The Viltrox AF 14mm F4.0 Air L is designed for users who need an ultra-wide field of view without carrying a large lens.
It weighs just 172 grams and offers a wide 112.6-degree field of view. This makes it suitable for landscapes, architecture, interiors, real estate photography and wide-angle video.
The lens can focus from just 0.13 metres and offers 0.23x maximum magnification, allowing you to get quite close to smaller subjects while still keeping plenty of the background in the frame.
Its optical design uses 12 elements in 9 groups, including:
- 4 ED elements
- 2 HR elements
- 2 aspherical elements
The lens has an F4 aperture and supports 58mm filters.
F4 may not be ideal for extreme low-light shooting, but for landscapes, buildings, interiors and daytime vlogging, it should be practical.

Viltrox AF 20mm F2.8 Air L
At only 159 grams, the Viltrox AF 20mm F2.8 Air L is the lightest lens among the four.
The 20mm focal length gives you a wide view without looking as extreme as a 14mm lens. This makes it useful for travel, street photography, indoor photography and vlogging.
Its F2.8 aperture also lets in more light than the 14mm F4 lens, making it more useful for night streets, indoor scenes and beginner astrophotography.
The minimum focusing distance is 0.19 metres, while maximum magnification is 0.17x.
Inside the lens are 10 elements in 8 groups, including:
- 2 ED elements
- 1 HR element
- 2 aspherical elements
It uses a 52mm filter thread.
For someone using a compact Lumix full-frame body, the 20mm F2.8 could work well as a lightweight everyday wide-angle lens.

Viltrox AF 40mm F2.5 Air L
The Viltrox AF 40mm F2.5 Air L sits between the traditional 35mm and 50mm focal lengths.
At 40mm, the perspective feels natural, making it a useful choice for street photography, food photography, travel and everyday family photos.
The lens weighs just 169 grams and can focus as close as 0.34 metres. Maximum magnification is rated at 0.14x.
Its optical design consists of 10 elements in 6 groups, including:
- 1 ED element
- 3 HR elements
- 1 aspherical element
The lens supports 52mm filters, which means users buying the 20mm and 40mm lenses can share the same filters between them.
For photographers looking for one small lens for regular everyday shooting, the 40mm focal length could be a very practical option.

Viltrox AF 50mm F2.0 Air L
The Viltrox AF 50mm F2.0 Air L is the most portrait-friendly lens in this new lineup.
A 50mm prime is commonly called a nifty fifty because the focal length works well for portraits, lifestyle photography, products and general-purpose shooting.
It weighs 205 grams, making it the heaviest lens among the four, though it is still very compact for a full-frame prime.
The F2.0 aperture is also the brightest in this Air L lineup. A wider aperture allows more light to reach the sensor and can produce stronger background blur.
The lens focuses from 0.51 metres and offers 0.11x maximum magnification.
Optically, it uses 13 elements in 9 groups, including:
- 3 ED elements
- 4 HR elements
- 1 aspherical element
It has a 58mm filter thread, the same size used by the 14mm F4 lens.

Why These Viltrox L-Mount Lenses Matter
L-Mount users already have access to several excellent lenses from Leica, Panasonic and Sigma, but many of them sit in a higher price range.
The arrival of four compact Viltrox Air L-Mount lenses gives photographers more affordable autofocus options without making their camera setup unnecessarily heavy.
Native L-Mount support also means features such as autofocus, electronic aperture control and in-camera lens corrections can work directly between the camera and lens.
Actual image quality, autofocus speed and video focusing noise will become clearer once the lenses are tested properly.
On paper, however, this new Viltrox lineup looks interesting. You can build a complete set covering 14mm, 20mm, 40mm and 50mm, with all four lenses weighing only around 705 grams and costing less than $750 combined.
